Our online fundraiser with the thank you gift of a tie-dyed scarf was very popular, and will probably return again in the Fall! Check back from time to time, as we will offer different thank you gifts, (not to mention the nice birthday or christmas presents they would make, while also supporting wildlife rescue).
This month Raccoon River Bend was awarded a $3,000.00 grant from the Lauren Townsend Memorial Wildlife Fund to be used toward obtaining a nursery building. We are elated to share the joy that we know resides in Lauren's heart. She will always be honored by the little wild orphans that pass through those doors.
Once upon a time there was a ball of confusion filled with disregard, fear, anger, and misunderstanding. It rolled across the earth acre by acre , gathering weight, crushing everything in its path. Although it was big, hatred and stress exhausted it, so it never could realize the possibility of seeds of kindness. But as confusion slept, the seedlings took hold and grew taller and ever taller until they blanketed the wasteland that confusion left behind. The faster the ball of confusion rolled, the faster the wildflowers germinated and bloomed. Until finally one day it collided with a huge oak tree and magically disappeared into a puff of smoke.
